Puppy Linux in School Lab at Novara, Italy

The New Computer Lab (At Novara)

La novità principale è l'adozione di un sistema operativo Linux, che sostituirà l'ormai datato e non aggiornabile Windows 98.

(The main innovation is the adoption of a Linux operating system, which will replace the outdated and not updated Windows 98.)

Hmm, let me try to translate that:

"[Exactly the kind of use for which Linux is best.] Personally I find that puppy is a gem. Nice to see that [one of] the interesting initiatives happen even a few steps from home. Congratulations!"

Esattamente il tipo di uso che immagino da anni per i sistemi linux. Personalmente trovo che puppy in particolare sia un gioiellino. Bello vedere che le iniziative interessanti a volte accadono anche a due passi da casa. Congratulazioni!

All the PCs have AMD Duron 1Ghz processor and 96 or 128MB Ram. They are connected in a LAN and the professor's PC is used as file server through FTP for file sharing. Multi-user is not needed on single PC-s in that Lab. However, those who are interested in managing multi-users can try the Puppy Linux Community Edition.

I'd be curious to know exactly what the setup of this lab looks like. Specifically, how they handle multiple users, and what kind of filesharing they're using.

PUPPY LINUX è ECCEZIONALE!!!!

BISOGNA DIFFONDERLO IL PIù POSSIBILE.

è NECESSARIO ANCHE CREARE UN PACCHETO CHE PERMETTA DI USARLO CON I MODEM ADSL USB
